Plumbing and conduit have been placed and passed inspection! Brian Downs and his team have completed all of the underground work of laying pipes for the plumbing and conduit to run electrical wires for the building. Before covering over the plumbing everything had to be inspected by the state inspector – it all passed! Thanks to Brian, Dallas and team for doing an excellent job!
Placing the Styrofoam insulation, in-floor heating tubes and rebar has been completed on 3 of the sections. Aaron is planning to pour the floor in 4 or 5 separate pours. This is to make it easier to manage each of the sections and get the best finish possible. Swenby’s poured the first section this past Friday. Weather permitting they plan to pour section two on Monday and section three on Tuesday. Once those are done they will come in and prepare the center section for pouring and hope to have that poured a week from Monday.
Walls will begin to go up on Monday, if everything goes as planned. John Revier has several sections of the wall already constructed and now he is ready to begin setting the walls. He will start setting the sections of wall that he can; but he will have to wait for concrete to cure for at least a week before he can drive on it so we will see other sections of the walls go up and the rafters being set as soon as he can.
Visit the site. We encourage you to drive by the site from time to time to see how it is going. For safety reasons we ask that you stay back from the work area of the site and to not allow little kids to run around. We don’t want anyone hurt.
Hoedown planning continues to move forward. We really need you to step forward to help. Please consider coming to the Hoedown meeting, giving your input and lending a helping hand – WE NEED YOU!
The Building Committee invites you to come to the BC meetings to listen in and to give your feedback. In the coming weeks we will be making some decisions such as color of siding, etc. We would like to hear what you have to say. We meet every Monday at 7:00.
What can you do?
CONTINUE TO PRAY – we need every member of our parish family to pray for the success of our project, the safety of those working, and generous hearts of all.
Volunteer – give of your time and talents to help make this dream a reality; volunteer at fundraisers; step forward with new ideas, etc.
Be open – it is my sincere belief that the Holy Spirit has led us to where we are at today. A project of this size can only be accomplished with His guidance. Be open to the Holy Spirit in your life and let Him lead and guide us as we move forward.
Be positive – have you ever seen the billboards that simply say “Be Positive”? Very appropriate. Remain positive. Speak positively of what we are accomplishing. In the body of Christ there is no room for gossip, put-downs, and negativism. Jesus calls us to love one another as he has loved us – we can only do this if we are positive.
Give – if you have not given to the capital campaign, it is not too late. We need all of our members to be sacrificial givers for both the building project and the general operating fund of the parish. Please prayerfully consider making a sacrificial gift.
